Created from months of questions, conversations, and private reflections shared with an AI assistant, this portrait imagines how a machine “sees” the artist through his words. Formed from patterns of curiosity, health concerns, cultural interests, and daily life, the work becomes a psychological self-portrait filtered through algorithmic intuition.
After generating the image, the artist extended the collaboration further: the assistant was asked to propose how the work should be displayed: its scale, materials, framing, and lighting. From these options, the curator made the final selections. In a closing gesture, the artist then asked the same system to price the work based on this realized configuration.
Beyond questions of authority, the process also embraces delegation as a method- testing how much of artistic labor can be deferred, outsourced, or surrendered.
