The series of paintings, titled Fragile Handle With Care, examines the removal of personal belongings and artifacts during human migration along the dangerous routes taken by so many in recent years. The title plays on the common instruction used when handling fragile items—an instruction meant to ensure care but often devoid of humanity. Typically, this phrase is accompanied by an image of open hands holding a fragile object. In the paintings, abstract forms represent the imagined contents of these belongings, while the grid-like structure framing each composition expands on the symbolic cube, representing a precious object.
