Ayman Yossri Daydban Saudi-Palestinian, 1966
Daydban questions the process behind the formation of narratives, memories, and histories. Using cinematic posters 1960’s Egypt, he creates large-scale
installations that reflect on the notion of the iconic image, a visual representation constructed over time by a society and shared in the collective
imagination. The work provides an insight into the artist’s subjective responses to mass-produced culture, alongside the partiality and limitations of those who compiled it.
